- Description
- A celebration of progress - A gathering of congregation and representatives of the Federated Mission Board enjoyed seeing progress on construction of Kensington Place Church in the early 1920's. The Federated Mission Board consisted of representatives from 13 churches in Pasadena which organized the mission of establishing a church for the growing Japanese community. The sanctuary, completed in 1924, served as church until moved to location in Altadena in 1967. Pasadena City College has digital versions of both the annotated photograph as shown and a cropped version (photo only). The Japanese Union Church is currently home to the First Presbyterian Church, Altadena on Kensignton Place.
