- Taped to the back of the photograph is a piece of paper with the following typed on it: "LOCAL STUDENTS PLACE FIRST IN BofA AWARDS PROGRAM -- Eight area community college students won top honors in the area event competition for Bank of America's Community College Awards program. The competition was held Wednesday March 25 at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut. Congratulating the winners is Event Chairman Joseph M. Zagorski, Vice Pres., Instruction, Mt. San Antonio College and Edward McCormick, Victor Valley College, winners in the Business category and Karen Williams, San Bernardino Valley College and Joseph Man-Hei-Ho, Pasadena City College, winners in the Science-Engineering category. BofA manager Jackie Mangana right, was the coordinator for the semi-final competition. Each student is guaranteed a minimum cash prize of $500 and may win up to $2,500 in cash awards at the final selection event which will be held April 23. BETTE EDWARDS
