- Description
- "In the 1980s, I was one of the earlier African Americans allowed to volunteer for the Tournament of Roses. After my first New Year's parade, I was exhausted. But when I came home, my father and our neighbor applauded me as I came in. They were so proud of me." Judith Mack Benson (right) volunteered for about 14 years with the Tournament of Roses. On the left is Judith's sophmore daughter, Naja Benson.
