- The Nysaean Singers were a group of PCC co-eds who according to the 1948 edition of "Campus" "who give and receive inspiration and pleasure through participation in the performance of choral music arranged for women's voices." The group met as a class for three hours each week and performed throughout the community. Descriptions of major musical productions on the campus during this period frequently mention the inclusion of the Nysaeans. This particular photograph was from one of the productions of Gloria a Christmas production. As described in the 1939 issue of the "Campus" yearbook, ""Twin casts, giving opportunity to more students, were used in this year's presentation of the Christmas choral play, "Gloria." A total over 400 students participated in the five performances given under the auspices of the drama and music departments."" The description went on to say that "Aiding in the choral effects were the Nysaeans,..." "1939 with the fifth anniversary of the pageant, which has become a Pasadena Yuletide tradition."
