Three thousand faces eagerly turned, watched every move
14 OMD members made as they calmly filed down auditorium
aisles, scanned over audience, then laid their hand on the should¬
ers of students who have rendered outstanding service to the
school while at PJC. Highest honor payable to any student is like
acceptance into Order of Mast and Dagger. Last Thursday during
traditional final semester assembly the following were received
into membership: BILL ANTHONY (ROTC officer, President
Beta Phi Gamma, Managing Editor of Chronicle, President ROTC
Guards, AMS Board member, Theseus, Lancer); MARGARET
THEISS (Secretary of Organizations, Secretary of Music for 2
semesters, Spartan, Civil Service, Election Board, President of
Kantela Club, member of Student Faculty Council); HAROLD
BOSACKI (Secretary of Men’s Athletics, 2-year varsity in track,
League Champion, Lancer President, Election Board) ; MARYLEE
GILLOON (Secretary of Notifications, 2 semesters, Spartan,
Election Board, Student Conference, Art Club, War Council, Art
Department work, Civil Service); MILTON BLAKEMAnT (Most
outstanding ROTC man of 1941-42, Expert rifleman, Commander
of Regiment, Speaker and teacher of ROTC, Treasurer of SC A) ;
BETTY SMITH (WAA President, Secretary of Women’s Athletics,
Badminton Manager, Parliamentarian, Spartan, AWS Represen¬
tative, Election Board) ; SHIRLEY HETTMAN (Art Department,
Red Cross Chairman, Spartan, Women’s Activities); JOHN
RIEDEL (Silver Screen President, Hard worker of Silver Screen,
ROTC); MARGIE EVANS (Civil Service, Players’ Guild, Sec¬
retary of Phi Rho Pi, Manager of Extemporaneous Speech, Sec¬

JEANNE DE GARMO (Representative-at-Large, Finance Commit¬

WRIGHT, Honorary Member (Secretary to Dean of Women,
helped Spartans and AWS very much) ; JACK RIDDLE, notified
by Telegram (Lancer President, Football, Track, national meet
for PJC, Fencing, Guard). On West Campus: LUCILLE HAR¬
RELL, sick at home was notified by telephone (Spartan President,
Spartan 3 semesters, SCA, Ostiarian 3 semesters, Ostiarian Presi¬
dent) ; and LOUIS MURILLO (Lancer President, Lancer 3 semes¬
ters, General service, office work).
