Revive school spirit! That is
my slogan. The school is now at
the point where it can be re¬
newed to a pre-war standard. I
propose to accomplish this in the
following manner:
1. That student body officers
will attend all school activities
as they continually urge the stu¬
dents to do.
2. That the faculty and stu¬
dents must cooperate with each
other once again. The distance
between these two groups is too
great at present.
3. That all students should en¬
ter into all activities instead of
a few as is now.
4. The governing students and
board will take a more mature
attitude towards the students
rather than the feeling they at
present are accustomed to use.
5. To promote and renew with
greater interest forgotten tradi¬
tions and events such as Fresh¬
man beanies, championship
sweaters, busses to out-of-town
activities and many more.

The office of ASB Vice-prexy,
will have, I believe, a doubled res¬
ponsibility for the ensuing year.
What with more and more ser¬
vicemen returning to take up
where they left off, Ithe Student
Body President will have more
than his share of work which will
necessitate having an able assis¬
tant, who has a lively interest
in school affairs, to help him to
take over in his absence.
Qualifications: AWS president,
secretary of activities Junior
Class President, AWS Board,
class councils, Hi-Liters (ex-vice-
prexy) Spartans, OMD and Sor-
elle restrictive club.

Here at PJC for the past couple
of years we have been dominated
by a so-called “lid.” We all know
know that the war has been the
excuse for many things, but now
there is peace and there are no
more excuses. This semester the
AMS has endeavored to remove
that so-called ‘lid.”
The office of Student Body Pres¬
ident has large and extensive fun¬
ctions. This semester these func¬
tions have started to spread and
the attempts that have been made
to increase school spirit are grow¬
ing. For instance, the activities
of your AMS Board this semester
have created an interest in the
student body to go back to the
ways they once knew.
I understand the qualifications
of the Student Body President are
many, but I believe that one of
the president’s greatest jobs is
to find out4 the needs and wishes
of the student body.
I would like to create here at
PJC a Student- Administration Vo¬
cational Board, which will give
all students a chance to help to
regulate courses, so that when
they leave here, their future will
be well in mind.
If I am elected as your Student
Body President, I will give to
you the things that are so badly
needed. I’m not going to create
school spirit, I’m going to use
what we have here already. W>
all know there is plenty of old
fight around.
Qualifications: AMS president,
War Council, social affairs, Jun¬
ior Class Council, Lancers, Shield-
man, activities committee boara,
Hi-Liters (ex-presdent), Vaisffy
tennis team, Pegasus restrictive
club.

Voters to Name
Popular Teacher
Besides choosing their student
body officers, voters casting bal¬
lots in the final election, May 24
will have a chance to name their
favorite teacher at PJC. The win¬
ning faculty member is designa¬
ted as the “most helpful teacher
during the past semester,” and
is awarded a gold cup at final
honors and awards assembly.
Last semester Miss Katherine
Meese of the English department
was voted this honor. The sec¬
ond semester of 1944-45, Mr.
Charles Eckels of the physical
science department won. Other
winners have been Mr. Ray Ris-
ser of the social science depart¬
ment who is also adviser of stu¬
