Printesses Chosen

Culminating six weeks of judg-

announcement of the members of
the annual Tournament of Roses

Six lovelies are to remain prin¬
cesses while one will be chosen
Queen to reign over Pasadena’s
famed Tournament of Roses on
New Year’s Day.
Of the seven misses selected to
rule on January 1, five are PCC
coeds, while two call John Muir
their alma mater. Five of the
girls are brunettes, the other two
being blondes.
Chosen to reign at the New
Year’s festivities from PCC were
Barbara Fisher, a 19 year old
brown-eyed brunette; Sharon Kel¬
ly, blue-eyed sophomore; Marcia
Long, the brunette former PCC
Miss Easy Vision; Nancy Thorne,
a junior, with blue eyes and
blonde hair; and Sue Graves, 17
year old brown-eyed brunette.
From Muir College are brown¬

Out of these seven princess the
Tournament of Roses judges have
picked a Queen, who will be nam¬
ed tomorrow to head the 1952
Rose Parade, and to reign at all
events preceding the New Year’s
spectacle.
The Royal Court was chosen
after six weeks of judging and
elimination trials which began
with 1600 coeds from the two
Pasadena colleges, and was cli¬
maxed when, from a group of 28
beauteous semi-finalists, the sev¬
en members of the 1952 Tourna¬
ment of Roses Court were select¬
ed.

Offer Season’s Greetings
Best wishes to all at Pasa¬
dena City College for a pleasant
Christmas season! Many of
you will have an opportunity
for a profitable work experi¬
ence. Others of the student
body and faculty will take ad¬
vantage of the opportunity for
travel or relaxation. I hope
that all of us can return re¬
freshed and re-invigorated to
continue the educational pro¬
gram through the balance of
the school year.
Above and beyond the oppor¬
tunities for relaxation or profit
which the holiday season makes
possible, there is a deeper sig¬
nificance in Christmas which
we must not overlook. It should
be dedicated to the spirit of
giving and to the many bless¬
ings which we in this land en¬
joy. Let us all, therefore, re¬
dedicate ourselves to the Chris¬
tian principles in which we be¬
lieve.

Principal
With the holiday season ap¬
proaching, it is my pleasure to
extend to all the student body
the best wishes for a Merry
Christmas and a successful
New Year.
I think we can all look back
on this semester, and be proud
that we have attended Pasa¬
dena City College. With a cham¬
pionship team and spirited stu¬
dent body, the fall semester is
being brought to a close.
My only wish is that next
semester we can maintain our
high enthusiasm and spirit and
be a benefit to our student
body.
Best wishes to all and let’s
make 1952 a year to remember.
