begins

Bill Jones, Order of Mast and
Dagger president, has announc¬
ed that construction on the
OMD carnival information
booth, to take the form of a
fairyland castle, begins today,
to inaugurate the charity cloth¬
ing drive for the citizens of
Hanau County, Germany.
Booths representing nearly 50
campus organizations are slated
to go under construction early
Friday. They will sell a variety
of entertainment as well as all
types of carnival food.

nival, whose theme this year, “A

draw family groups to the fes¬
tivities, will be used to finance
the giving of the annual Harbe-
son Scholarships. Awards of $50
each are presented the graduat¬
ing sophomore boy and girl who
have most distinguished them¬
selves in activities, while main-.,
taining a satisfactory scholastic
record, to aid them in their up¬
per division years at PCC.
Additional carnival receipts
will be employed to foot postage
expenses for shipping clothing to
Hanau, Germany.
OMD’ers will be appropriately
costumed for the evening, and
will be on hand to answer all
queries.
Friday’s carnival will offer var¬
ious forms of foods and amuse¬
ments. Some of the food booths
include candied apples, pop com,
donuts, shrimp and french fries,
cocoa, and candy. Games include
a duck toss, tomatoe throw, dart
game, sponge throw, dunking
tub, sling shot at cans, record
breaker, garter toss, squirt out
candles, and snow ball throw.

KARNIVAL KIDDIES” get a preview

Pools. Viewing the carnival grounds are Dr.

Topalian (standing). Booth construction starts
today and will be completed by 4 pan. Friday.
OMD’s information booth .wil be located on the
front steps of C building. Any questions on
booth locations as well as lost and found
articles or people will be answered there. High'
light of the evening will be the coronation
ceremonies in front of D building. Prizes will
be awarded to Whiskerino winners and most
original booth decorations.

Members of the carnival royal
court wil be introduced by Alex
Cooper at Friday night’s coro¬
nation ceremonies. “Cinderella,
Queen of a Storybook World,”
will then be crowned by Dr. Wil¬
liam B. Langsdorf, local princi¬
pal.
Opening the evening’s festivi¬
ties, OMD President Bill Jones
will introduce Tom Wilson, As¬
sociated Men Students prexy,
who will award prizes to winners
in the Whiskerino contest.

Johnson, Business ; Patricia
Mann, Drama; Barbara Mundorff,

government, will be honored.
Grand tour through the car-
nivhl led by Dr. Langsdorf, the
queen, and four princesses and
their escorts, will be held. Other
escorts include Charles Eckels,
Edwin Van Amringe, Audre
Stong and Earl Holder.
Clubs entering the best booths
will also be feted in the corona¬
tion program. Trophies will be
awarded by Jim Anderson, OMD
vice-president.
