CUT CAPERS AT
COMING CARNIVAL
The Flange Rider, famous cow¬
boy on TV, will be OMD’s guest
of honor at the Silverado Carni¬
val, announced Mac Small, or¬
ganization president.
Tex’s part in festivities will be
the crowning of “Her Majesty.”
One of the following will be
queen of the day and honored
by the famed TV cowhand: Ruth
Wood, Art Department; Kay Ris-
ser, Social Science and Language
Departments; Donna Rhoades,
women’s athletics ; Rosemarie
Hurlimann, drama; and Linda
Denny, student government.
City Collegians will be voting
for their candidate this week.
Giant size pictures of the prin¬
cesses will remain in the main
hall until Friday night, accord¬
ing to Perle Swedlow, queen com¬
mittee chairman.
OMD Presents
Booth Awards
Four trophies will be awarded in this year’s
OMD Carnival, announced OMD booth awards
chairman, Leo Dizikes. The judges for the contest
will be Miss Betty Brusher, Arthur Schecter and
F^aul Smith.
A sweepstakes trophy will be awarded to the
most outstanding booth, a theme prize trophy for
the most original idea, a third place “Oscar,” and
a special award trophy, presented after the carni¬
val to the booth with the most profit.
Judging will take place the day of the carni¬
val, May 16, at 5 o’clock.
Purpose of the trophies is to instigate an in¬
terest and desire for competition among campus
organizations.

One Silverado beauty will reign
over festivities in the Order of
Mast and Dagger’s 1952 carnival
on Friday. Vying for the royal
title will be Donna Rhoades, wo¬

Competition for the OMD
queen is always a center of in¬
terest in the carnival. Last year’s
number one coed was Walnita
Dorsey, candidate of the Wom¬
en’s Physical Education Depart¬
ment who reigned as Cinderella
over a “Storybook World.” This
year’s queen will wave her scep¬
ter over the old Western town of
Silverado. Students should dress
accordingly for the theme.
‘Andy’ Wins in
ASB Primary
Flocking to the polls with “unprecedented en¬
thusiasm,” Pasadena City College students Fri¬
day elected Andy Castellano to the ASB presidency.
He defeated Bob Powers by a 293 vote plurality.
In the contest for vice-president of the PCC
student body, Jeanne Nickell and George Milan re¬
tained places on the final ballot. Lee Weston
Dudley was eliminated in the primary. Six stu^
dents, Nancy Wichman, Burt Howells, Terry Smith,
Anne Lindsay, Gary Beggs and Patsy Woodbridge,
struggled into the finals for representative-at-large.
John FitzRandolph and Eleanor Johnson, both
running unopposed, were named AMS and AWS
presidents, respectively. Minor officers for both
