John Muir and Pasadena City College students will “talk
turkey” tonight while they “hobble” to the music of Bob Mohr
and his orchestra at the annual pre-game dance entitled the

dancing at the Gobble Hobble,
and rooting for their team at
the annual Turkey Tussle.
“Gobble Hobble.” With the Pasa¬
dena Civic Auditorium as the
scene, the dance will begin at 9
and end at 12 midnight. Ron Gis-
ter, president of the Pasadena
City College senior class, has
joined with the John Muir senior
class president in sponsoring the
event which yearly precedes the
Turkey Tussle football game.
Bob Mohr’s musical aggrega¬
tion has been mutually approved
by the two schools. The group
has played several engagements
at the Hollywood Palladium.
As an added attraction Stan
Freberg, television and recording
artist, and Dell O’Dell, magician,
will appear.
Stan Freberg is well-known for
his portrayal of Cecil, the Seasick
Sea Serpent on the “Time for
Beany” TV program. His comical
interpretation of “Cry” reached
the top in phonograph record
sales, while the new Freberg ver¬
sion of “The World is Waiting for
the Sunrise” is also proving to
be a success.
Dell O’Dell, who is a female
prestidigitator and is appearing
weekly on TV, will entertain
dancers with magic tricks.
Tickets for the Gobble Hobble
may be purchased by student
body members only. Admission
to the dance is $1.50 per couple.
'Coming Soon’ Events
Cited by Artist Series
Featured at the Campus Artist Series today will be a movie
condensation of the popular opera, “Carmen.” The movie contains
the best-known numbers from the opera and promises to be an en¬
joyable program for all music lovers.
An all-ballet dance program will be presented on Thursday-
Dee. 4, and will include solos as well as combination numbers.
Everyone is invited to attend the programs, which are held in
Harbeson Hall at 12:15 p.m.
Arts Set Holiday Fete
Glorious Yuletide songs and
sparkling scenes of Christmas
will comprise PCC’s Christmas
program which is now being
planned by the various fine arts
groups. Instead of the traditional
“Gloria,” an exciting Christmas
Festival Concert will be staged in
our auditorium for students, Fri¬
day, Dec. 12, during the assembly
period and again that evening for
the public at 8 p.m.
The choirs, soloists, dancers,
the orchestra, and members of
the Drama Department will be
featured in the event and ele¬
gant stage settings for the tab¬
leaux are being planned by the
Art Department.
Faculty members in charge of
the numerous groups are Paul¬
ine Brown, dancers; David Metz¬
ger, art work, stage settings and
costumes; Miss Isobel Smith, as¬
sisted by Dr. R. W. Graham and
Mrs. Kathryn Barnard, choral
groups; and Lee Chrisman, or¬
chestra. Arrangements and pub¬
licity are under the direction of
Mrs. Carolyn Weersing.
