his nearest opponent, AMS Prexy

dark horse candidate Daivid Lai-
dig.

honors on the basis of extraordin¬
ary and unselfish service.

phine Nissley; students Oskar

A banquet will be held this eve¬
ning at 6:30 at Ricky’s Restaurant
at which the tappees will be for¬
mally initiated and once again
honored.
Originally called the Order of
Mast and Dagger, OMD was foun¬
ded in 1927 to recognize unselfish
service given to the college by stu¬
dents, faculty and administrative
personnel. -
Tappees are selected for mem¬
bership through an interesting, if
somewhat involved, process which
has evolved over the years.
The first step in the long pro¬
cess begins when the faculty and
administration submit recommen¬
dations to the club.
Once this step is completed, the
club members sit down together
and evaluate the list of students
The roster is cut down until a
semi-final tapping list is reached.
The remaining students are again
discussed and rated on a point
scale.

AFTER graduating from John
Muir High in 1962, he won the
$100 John Harbeson award as the
outstanding freshman here.
Worsdell plans to study law at
use.
Some 40 Lancers were deprived
of their right to vote because
they voided their ballots by voting
for both AMS and AWS candi¬
dates. The margins, however,
were decisive enough that the
voided ballots didn’t make any
difference.
Don Knott, election official,
said that next semester the Elec¬
tion Commission would work out
a policy where only incorrectly
marked offices would be voided
instead of the entire ballot.
