who had given outstanding serv¬
ice to the college.
Following the tapping cere¬
mony, the tappees will be intro¬
duced to the alumni and honor-
aries at a reception in the office
of Dr. Catherine J. Robbins.
Saturday evening, Jan. 28, the
new tappees will attend their first
meeting of the fraternity when
the group convenes for the an¬
nual banquet at Pierre’s.
Behind the tapping is one of
the most diligent investigations
of service to be found. Early in
November, the membership con¬
siders individually each name on
a master list of the student body.
After this list is narrowed down,
recommendations from the fac¬
ulty and administration are con¬
sidered.
Many discussion meetings and
one traditional “gripe meeting,”
where members discuss those who
have been removed from the list
without unanimous consent, fol¬
low initial tapping meetings. A
final voting meeting narrows the
list to those Who will be tapped,
namely, those who have given
the most excellent service.
In charge of the tapping pro¬
cedure is Anita Wilcott, president
of OMD. The investigation was
done by Allen Carter, Ken Fager,
George Morlan, Bob Nichols, Art
Dyson, and Ladd Thomas.
