Lancers Given Recognition in
Traditional Tapping Ritual
Omicron Mu Delta, the order of
distinguished service, tapped 22
students and four faculty and
staff members into membership
this morning.
OMD is PCC’s highest honor¬
ary organization. The traditional
tapping ceremony, which was
completed in classes this morn¬
ing, is the highest honor that
students and faculty members can
be given.
In addition to the outstanding-
ing service records that brought
the recognition to the students,
each tappee has maintained a 2.0
cumulative GPA at PCC, and
each is enrolled in at least 12
units of college classes.

June Callaghan — Over 300
hours of service to school offices
and activities, member of Spar¬
tans, vice-president of the Inter-
Club Council.
Missy Collet — President and
treasurer, WAA, has given out¬
standing service to the Women’s
P.E. Department.
Jack Cook — Editor of the Stu¬
dent Handbook, volunteer admin¬
istration editor of the Pageant,
extra time in rewriting and laying
out the Pageant.
Jo Ann Crutsinger — Over 200
hours of volunteer service as sec¬
retary to the Engineering and
Technology Council, member of
the Model Home Producers Club,
Modern Dance Club, and the Adel-
phians.
Effie Green — Volunteer work in
numerous school offices and de¬
partments, vice-president of the
Adelphians, member of the Sec¬

Dusty Greene — Executive editor

ASB Election Results
Scott Van Ousdahl was elected
president of the ASB, and Gra-
liame Jones was elected vice-
president in elections this week.
Other presidents elected were

Scott, AWS; Terry Smith, AMS;
and Tom Costen, Sophomore
Class.

Grads Are Twomey Winners
First winners of OMD’s annual John E. Twomey Memo¬
rial Award to outstanding high school graduates were an¬
nounced this week. Coed winner is Stephanie A. Clark, Temple
City High School, while male winner is Glenn B. Hoffman,
Pasadena High.
The new award, established on
the death of John E. Twomey,
long-time teacher and administra¬
te, is made each spring to the
“outstanding male and female in¬
coming freshmen for the succeed¬
ing school year who have given
unselfish service to their high
schools in the tradition of OMD.”

Is 40 Years Old
OMD, an order of distinguished
service and PCC’s highest honor¬
ary organization, was founded 40
years ago to recognize students
who had given an extraordinary
amount of service to the college.
Since 1927, OMD has held an
ideal — that unselfish service can
be successfully recognized and
that college students are mature
enough to shoulder the responsi¬
bility of being singled out as lead¬
ers.
Individuals selected for this
highest honor PCC can give, were
tapped in their classes this morn¬
ing by active members. They
were recognized for their unself¬
ish service well-performed for
PCC.
Spring tappees will be honor¬
ed Sunday at a banquet for mem-
