New Tappees Honored
at Assembly, Banquet
PCC’s spring OMD tappees will be honored at a banquet for
current and alumni members at the Venetian Dining Room, Altadena,
at 7 p.m., Saturday.
Mary Blowers, president of OMD, reports that more than 880
OMD alumni members have been invited to attend. Entertainment
will include skits and color films of the 1966 OMD Carnival and tap¬
ping ceremony.
“Would You Believe?” is the theme of the evening, Miss Blowers
said.
A banquet each semester, another long-standing tradition of
OMD, has been held regularly since 1929.
In other traditional activities, OMD held its semesterly assembly
and reception for the honorees.
This morning’s assembly, in which the 19 new members of OMD
were honored, featured Dick and Dee Dee and the Challengers.
The Challengers are the troup of entertainers that accompany
Dick and Dee Dee. Featured in the assembly were the group’s two
national best-sellers, “The Mountain’s High” and “Tell Me.”
Immediately following the assembly, OMD’s newest members
were guests at a reception in their honor in the office of Dr. Delmas
Bugelli, administrative dean for instruction. Punch and a beautifully
decorated cake bearing the names of all new tappees were features
of the fete.
