A LITTLE HUMOR THERE . . . folks, exhorts one of PCC’s
most talented English teachers, Cool Cat Frank Hammond. A
favorite for many years, this personable chap has once again been
called upon to thump the ivories to the tune of cool jazz music at
the Awards Assembly.
OMD Introduces New
Members at Banquet
As the sound of the words, “Tapped into OMD” reverberate throughout Sexson Auditori¬
um tomorrow morning, Pasadena City College will pay its highest tribute to nine students and
two faculty members in recognition of their outstanding service to the school. The following
students were chosen by Omicron Mu Delta, highest honorary organization on campus, into

Bureau and development of the
work-study program; PCC repre¬
sentative to numerous national
conferences to set up work-study
programs for other junior col¬
leges.

The newly-elected members of Omicron Mu Delta, who
will be presented to the student body at tomorrow’s assembly,
will be honored again tomorrow evening at the semi-annual
OMD banquet. The banquet will commence at 6:30 at the El
Spartans Welcome
Twelve Tappees
Twelve women with outstand¬
ing service records were tapped
into Spartans Monday. They will
be welcomed at the semi-annual
breakfast next Wednesday at 7
a.m. in the Faculty Dining Room.
The new tappees are Janice
Jones, Judy Nelson, Carolyn
Longyear. Lois Watts, Kay Doo¬
ly, Jane Downhower, Jackie Min-
assian, Sue Hallman, Phyllis
Jones, Sigrid Swanstron, Maur¬
een Peters and Lily Roum.
Four honorary members were
tapped also. They are Miss Aud¬
rey Duff, Miss Suzanne Macauley,
Miss Diane Jonker, and Mrs. Rae
Goodman.
Spartans is the honorary wom¬
en’s service organization, whose
purpose is to honor PCC coeds
Dorado Restaurant.
Next semester's officers will be
elected and presented at this time
to the active and alumni OMD
members present.
At tomorrow’s assembly, each
tappee will be individually pre¬
sented, and his accomplishments
listed by OMD President Herb
James. They will be escorted on
stage by the active members of
OMD. After the introductions,
entertainment will be provided by
Frank Hammond, English instruc¬
tor at PCC, and his Many Spen-
dored Stompers Mark III. Ham¬
mond is noted for his real cool
piano playing. A fan of jazz mu¬
sic, Hammond has enlived many
previous assemblies.
