- Description
- This is a photograph of the Rose Parade in 1927. It looks like it was taken looking down at the parade route. In it is a palanquin carried by four men dressed identically in dark trousers, white shirt and what look like straw hats. It appears that they have just put the palanquin down on the street. Inside the palanquin is a female figure. The outside is covered in flowers, probably roses. Standing behind the two men at the back of the palanquin is another male figure who appears to be wearing some kind of a uniform. In the background of the photograph and behind the main figures a large palm tree and the top of a building are visible, The crowds of people gathered to watch the parade are also visible both in the fore and backgrounds. A handwritten note on the bottom edge of the photograph reads:"1927".
