- Description
- This is a photograph of 42 young men in Army uniforms standing in 'parade formation' on a field. There is a hedge behind them with a house set behind another hedge and an open gate further in the background. There are also many trees in the background surrounding the house. In the left foreground is another figure who is probably also in uniform and holding a clipboard as he walks past the other men. The other men are standing in two groups. One group is standing in eight columns, while the other is standing in seven columns -15 columns total. Most of the columns have three men in them. Some have only one or two. There is one young man standing in front of each group. These young men have their rifles on their shoulders while the rest have them grounded. There is one young man standing in front holding a flag with ROTC on it. The last man is standing facing the rest with his back to the camera. Note on the back of the photograph reads: "ROTC 1943/4 Parade area for ROTC corner of Del Mar (Blanche) and Hill. Photo donated by Hans (Skip) Morkisch". There is also a stamp which reads "Ted Harper" that may be the name of the photographer.
