A 100 Year History of PCC's Geography Department
In 2008, Dr. Rhea Presiado joined PCC faculty as the sixth geography faculty member ever hired at PCC in its 100-year history. Of course she didn't realize at the time that she was the sixth or the only other woman who had taught in the department since its launch in 1924. Pasadena City College's centennial celebration in 2024 provided the impetus for researching the history of her program. Her fascinating article titled "100-Year History of the PCC Geography Program" was published in the California Geographer Volume 64 2024.
